Established in 1993 by Dave Nesbitt and Ken Swarner, Matrix Composites quickly became a pioneer in the industry by applying its heritage in precision composite fabrication using RTM processcs, infusion processes and trapped rubber molding to various applications in space and optics. As one of the first to successfully use RTM process Cyanate esters (CEs) and Siloxanes, the closed-molding benefits of the RTM process are now a viable option in the fabrication of sensitive airborne optical components requiring low weight, high thermal stability and low out gassing.
In 1996, Matrix Composites began its role as one of Lockheed Martin’s top performing suppliers. Since that time, Matrix has furthered its Preferred Supplier Program status from Bronze Level in 2001 to Silver Level and the highly prestigious STAR Level in 2002 having continuously earned higher achievement level ratings on quality, delivery, responsiveness, and process control. Of the 60,600 suppliers to Lockheed Martin, only 1 percent achieve achieved STAR Supplier status.
Today, Matrix is a trusted source for critical composite fabrication on many of our nation’s most valuable assets in the military, aerospace and commercial aviation sectors
